Check out these mistletoes

So I know this is everywhere, but we finally decided to tackle this project and I think it came out so cute! The best part is we had all this stuff around the house, so it was just a matter of finding the time and energy to get the kids feet painted and washed in record time so we didn’t have a bunch of green footprints around the house. Let’s just say as long as you move very quickly, you can make it happen, too!

Supplies I used:
Acrylic Paint in red, green and yellow

Holidays · Valentiney

Hey there, Valentine!

I went into a bit of hibernation mode after the Christmas rush, but I think my body has recovered now that it’s the middle of February 😉 My daughter’s preschool is having their Valentine Party and it’s the first year she’s pretty excited about it, so I let her pick out what treats we would bring for the day. She picked these super sweet Valentine wafer cookies from Craft-o-Maniac:

Aren’t they adorable?
All you need are:

That’s it! This gave us enough for her entire class and enough for me to take to work to share. I wish I would’ve taken pictures of our final product, but both of us were covered in candy melts and sprinkles – haha. It was a great time and my 3 year old is so excited to show her friends at school what she made! I’m pretty excited to show my co-workers what I made too, so it’s a win-win 😉

Up next…

I’m on a roll with these desserts. The M&M’s Christmas Cookie Bars were a hit (of course), so I kept my momentum going with these easy, delicious treats for the first of our family parties. Affectionately called “Christmas Crack” this stuff was addicting! I will be switching it up for Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Random Wednesday. It’s so easy and definitely hits the spot. And look – more M&M’s!

It’s Christmastime in the city…

And just like that, it’s Christmastime. The parties are already beginning and the food and desserts are being planned. I usually like to be done with my shopping by now, but I haven’t even started – eek! I’m too busy getting goodies ready for the next 3 weeks. Up first, for my work holiday party are these M&M’S Christmas Cookie Bars from the fabulous No. 2 Pencil:

Gone to Green Bean Casserole Heaven

Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m still stuffed and enjoying leftovers, but I HAVE to tell you about this new recipe I tried. I keep my menu pretty simple and traditional, but I’ve been wanting to try a fresh green bean casserole recipe this year and I finally found one that sounded simple and amazing – and I was right! I enjoy a recipe that you can prep ahead of time and that, of course, tastes delicious and this one hit all the marks. Everyone went back for seconds and thirds! This is one dish that didn’t have leftovers, so I will be doubling my recipe next year [note to self]. Check it out over at Kitchen meets girl along with her other great recipes!

Thanksgiving prep!

I don’t know about you, but Thanksgiving is hands down one of my favorite holidays. The food, the family, the food…the food. I’ve been hosting Thanksgiving dinner for the last 7 years and we usually having about 15 dinner guests. Each year I try to keep it simple, but delicious. I found this handy little chart from simplemost that takes all the guesswork out of portion sizes and servings sizes! Isn’t it fantastic?

Thanksgiving Cheat Sheet

This has definitely helped to take some of the stress off of the planning and prep. Another thing that will help take some of the stress off is rounding up on the number of recommended bottles of wine 😉 That’s my little piece of expert advice.

Tell me – what’s your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?
